TO GO WITH AFP STORY BY MARIUS SCHATTNER: (FILES) A picture taken June 8, 2007 shows three gay Israelis posing in pink hats and holding lace parasols during the annual Gay Pride parade in Tel Aviv. Just an hour's drive from the beaches of Tel Aviv and its scantily-clad sunbathers, men covered in long black coats and wheel-sized fur hats sway in prayer before Judaism's holiest site in Jerusalem. The contrast highlights the challenges Israel has faced over the past 60 years trying to prevent a major collision of the secular and religious forces that have shaped the Jewish state. Gana Venezuela Miss Universo
